Facebook today has launched new home video chat devices called The Portal and Portal plus after a month after initial announcement .The sale starts today online and will be available for sale in Facebook and Amazon websites.
Its main focus is video chatting with the options of displaying photos, music playing and it can also support few number of video networks with limited features at launch, Facebook will not be accessible in this device.
It can be used to chat with facebook messenger alone with smart camera options to make it easy to operate. The devices camera has motion sensors and move as you move so you will not require moving the device. But are people willing to bring cameras into the house. The device has built in privacy features but considering the recent privacy scandals relating to Facebook people might still be skeptical and less comfortable trusting it fully.

$100 discount on purchase of both the devices together. Which actually makes sense as you need two another portal user with whom you can chat with.
